We are looking for an experienced Lead Philanthropy with excellent leadership skills and networking abilities. The Lead Philanthropy will be responsible for building good relationships with potential donors and clients across multiple sectors, communicating with the broader public and internal teams, delegating tasks and drawing up plans to ensure annual targets are met. The person should be well organized, proactive and have the ability to inspire those around him.
The successful Lead Philanthropy must be well equipped with marketing strategies and be comfortable doing research on different sectors. The Lead Philanthropy should have sharp public speaking skills and be able to deliver presentations to a range of audiences.
Lead Philanthropy Responsibilities:
- Building relationships with major donors or companies.
- Preparing and delivering presentations
- Recruiting, organizing and inspiring volunteers
- Conducting research on fundraising opportunities.
- Writing, submitting, and uploading press releases as required.
- Writing funding proposals and submitting to potential donors/charitable trusts.
- Managing the grant application process and ensuring that reporting is tracked and meets donors' expectations.
- Lead on the development of annual income and expenditure budgets/forecasting for institutional/individual fundraising.
- Support, coach and manage the Institutional Fundraising team.
- Produce internal reports (monthly) and conduct reviews (quarterly) on the performance and progress of institutional fundraising against agreed financial targets , operational activities and annual objectives.
- Experience of working in a client relationship management and/or project/programme delivery capacity.
- Ensuring major donors or companies are happy with their donation scheme (such as charity of the year partnerships) and are kept informed of progress and key milestones.
- Preparing quarterly budgets.
- Spotting fundraising opportunities and raising awareness of the organization’s work.
- Developing and organizing fundraising campaigns, events and door-to-door collections.
- Developing plans and strategy regarding CSR component of different companies/institutions.
- Implementing a variety of marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
- Organizing and attending non-profit events and networking with relevant stakeholders.
- Managing information and recording the profile and fundraising activity of donors on a database.
- Establishing good relationships with staff, members of the public and the media.
Key skills of the Lead Philanthropy
Excellent communication skills: Both verbal and written communication skills are important for the role of a fundraising manager. The person will also need to build long-term relationships with potential donors or volunteers.
Research skills: He/she will need to be good at researching and devising strategies, as well as spotting and taking advantage of donation opportunities.
People management abilities: The person will need to be adept at managing others, whether they be in the team/direct supervision or in the wider range/ indirectly connected.
Strong budget management skills, organization skills and IT skills are also important as these will all support to achieve the fundraising targets aiming for. In addition, the candidate will need to have a keen interest in, and commitment to, the cause raising money for.
