Job Description:

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.  We are seeking qualified and highly motivated applicants for Timergara Lower Dir MSF Project:

 Nurse Supervisor for Post-Partum unit (Female)

General Objectives of the function:

  • Direct supervisor of all nurses, LHV’s and paramedical technicians in Post-Partum Unit.
  • Main clinical supervision in Post-Partum unit of nurses, LHV’s and paramedical technicians in Post-Partum unit
  • Administrative tasks (preparation of roster, organization of work, evaluations, follow-up pharmacy orders etc.)
  • When required cover a limited number of on call nights per month in Post-Partum Unit or Labor Unit   

Direct Supervisor:

Midwife Activity Manager and/ or Midwife Activity Manager Assistant

The Applicants must meet the following requirements:

 Qualification:

  • 3 years Nursing Diploma
  • Midwife experience in management of obstetric emergencies essential
  • Management experience
  • Valid PNC registration

 Experiences:

  • BTLS (Basic Trauma Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), ALSO (Advanced Life Support in Obstetric) are desirable 
  • 6 months supervising experience in MSF or other international organization is an advantage

 Required knowledge and skills:

  • High communication skills in Urdu and Pastho
  • Good communication skills in English, both in written and speaking
  • Good knowledge of Lower Dir community and culture
  • Strong management- and leadership capacities
