IRC has been working in Pakistan for over 30 years, and manages & delivers large, complex programs to meet needs in health, education, protection, environmental health and livelihoods for displaced, poor & conflict-affected communities. IRC works in partnership with local government and non-governmental organizations and currently works in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces.

Job Overview/Summary:

 

The Cook’s primary responsibility is to prepare and serve meals and snacks for staff and visitors.

Major Responsibilities:

·       Plan for meals and snacks within given budgets; procure food items at best quality and best price.  Account for expenditures, providing supporting valid and authentic receipts.

·       Prepare and serve meals and snacks, as scheduled.

·       Maintain good hygiene and cleanliness in food preparation.

·       Store food properly.

·       Organize and maintain the kitchen, kitchen equipment, cooking utensils and dishes in good, complete and clean order. 

·       Participate in professional training and development activities, as needed or requested.

·       Report all necessary maintenance requests timely to the main office administration on given forms for this purpose.

·       Perform other duties, as needed or requested.

 

Position Reports to:  Sr. Supply Chain Officer/Assistant

Indirect Reporting: None

Job Requirements:

Education:

·  Basic literacy

 

Work Experience:

·       Experience of working in offices or with INGO will be preferred

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

·       Good health and personal hygiene

·       Demonstrated cleaning skills

·       Responsiveness to direction and willingness to learn

Language Skills: 

·       Local languages along with good Urdu speaking

 

Desirable criteria:  

·   Previous experience and/or training as cook
